Do you change up your Poker Strategy

Do you always use the same strategy for every tournament you play or does it change when someone strong is seating at your table? ?

When someone appears strong my strategy is to play fewer hands but aggressively with strong hands to dominate and take the initiative. Avoid playing with poor hands .

Your poker strategy changes with every hand considering your position at the table. With strong players you wait for position and then you use your skills.

Of course, you must suit up your game depending on your table's dynamic. That means bullying the softies and enduring the toughies

There is no a standrad strategy. There are main point like how u play in early, mid and late stage,but the rest is change with every hand and player. The strategy deppends at stack sizes and the opponent style.

Since poker is situational, you have to change gear and adapt things the table brings. You have to change things so that they will not read you like a book.

you have to learn how to switch gears and hit it hard sometime.
Sometime you get busted right away, but in long run it pays off.

Your strategy definitly cannot be straightforward.
You adjust your game to your opponents( and their tendencies), you consider your table image, prizes, bubble etc etc.

Your game should always change depending on the table. It is hard to accomplish if you are running numerous tables but this is where the HUD comes in. Personally I only play 2-3 tables at a time as I'm a casual player but the HUD will record your opponents actions and provide you with some valuable info. a free HUD I believe is Jivaro?

Here is something that i just read on tournament poker. Every time a player leaves the table, a player comes to the table, the blinds go up, or someone loses a big pot, the character of the game changes. Pick up on the change and adjust accordingly.

When it comes to "perfect" poker you'd ideally want to be changing how you play every table if not every x amount of hands. Playing tight and aggressive can get you far in tournaments a lot of the time if you do it right, especially at lower buy-ins. However you SHOULD be changing how you play based on dynamic of table, stack sizes, and pretty much every other variable imaginable when it comes to poker in an ideal scenario.

In addiotion to what Giveitago said, I usually playing tournaments and changes my strategy when playing different speeds of tournaments .

In tournaments with high speed I'll take more risky bets and vice versa

Every secession is different but in early stages my opinion is to be more tight...and learn as many things about everyone in the table...then when you are going deep,more aggressive,steel some blinds...and hope for good hands...

I think my basic strategy is similar in most tournaments. Play tight and aggressive near the start. Then play my opponents near the middle and steal blinds near the end.
