Agree with Arj that it's best to get info from a variety of sources.
Hopefully those friends you discuss with will be at least somewhat skilled/experienced at the game.
Watching the big guys can be good, but I'm often sceptical as to how their play at the nose-bleed level relates to the micro-stakes that I play. Just had a re-re-re-look at one of Hellmuth's books, and there was some good stuff in it, of course. But not sure how much of it can be applied at my level.
