You always hear about those players who are nits and how they only play Aces and kings and queens and AK only. But don't every player play pocket pairs even for a limp including nits? I'm confused at a nit's hand selection. Obviously if a nit calls preflop with 66 and miss flop he would fold to any bet. But are nits not even calling a preflop raise with 66 to setmine?

Almost always. Nits usually have a VPIP stat @ 10% at a FR table.

Nits might limp in late position with QQ if they are feeling ambitious!

So if they limp QQ and no ace or king hits and someone leads out, they fold? Basically no set no bet?

That would all depend on the board but no ace no king showing that QQ start looking better, what type of board was you thinking about?

Most nits don't limp anything. They open their pairs (usually folding 22-66 from EP) and their big Aces. They call open raises with their little pairs (sometime even up to QQ) and 3bet KK/AA most of the time. Some nits 3bet QQ+/AK some don't 3bet QQ/AK. Nits aren't very positionally aware and their range changes little from EP through the button (with the exception of opening all pairs from later positions).

Boards like J 8 6 or 8 5 3.

Someone mentioned about a player who only played aa/kk and sometimes qq. And if they dont flop a set, the fold to aggression on flop...

Dont forget a board has a 45% chance of pairing up by the river so those queens could improve to 2 pair or set by river. With no A or K showing I'd be betting/protecting my queens depending on how many saw flop. Queens are not a limping hand.

All you need to know about nits is if they give action and you have not got a near nut hand its time to fold - before the pot gets big. They are not bluffing.
