Learn how you tilt
Stop playing after you lose a big pot or take a break.
If you feel any kind of emotional change in your body after taking a bad beat ( or more ) , or is not receiving letters , get up or just quit the game .
Discipline is one of the key pillars of fragile house of cards - if you do not use it , the castle collapses .
Most downswings and gambling tides are magnified because of poor discipline.
Do not be afraid to lower level if you are having problems.
With this tips you will improve in Poker , you have helped !

Nah buddy u r wrong, if u stop playing poker after bad beats or suckouts ull tillt faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar more often, whereas if u take those blows man up and try again next time u get dealt a bad beat ull do better tilt wise, i would say that is far more important to have a good BRM and stick to it, like u said dont be ashamed to go down in lvl if u cant handle the curent one, but taking a brake after a bad beat, naaaaaah bud u r dead wrong there :D

I agree with @SBEP, taking a break after a bad beat is not a good idea. I think you should embrace them and learn from them. Another way of looking at bad beats and suckouts is to consider them a "tax" we must pay to keep playing against lesser-skilled opponents. They're going to happen, so man up and deal with them in the correct way & they can become your learning friends.

Lately I've taken some terrible bad beats. Each cost me the opportunity to cash but I've learned through practice, patience, and discipline, to shrug them off because it's easy to forget the bad beats you put on someone else. What I do, and what helps me a lot, is to take some very deep breaths and focus on my breathing and this tends to calm me down and get me back to focusing on the task at hand, but I'm not sitting out if I have other tournaments going.

Exactly, the best thing to have is to stay calm and cool down, which is very easy when you are in a casino, go to the bathroom, wash your face, go to the bar, take a water, the biggest problem for me is to stay calm playing online.

I think it is a good exercise to learn how to play through adversity. You need to learn how to deal with the emotion outcomes that can occur in a game. Sometimes you have to remind yourself that just because you played a hand perfectly doesn't mean you will win. Also, if you got caught donking off chips in a hand, realize what you did wrong and try to use that against your opponent later when he wants to take advantage of you again.

I have problems with emotions when I get a lot of hands I think it gives me a false winning position !

This is all very good advice, especially because most people DO in fact tilt when they lose a big pot due to bad luck even though they might not think so. Being tilted is so much more subtle than most people think, and that's how it gets you. First you start playing marginal hands and just calling them instead of folding and etc etc. You should definitely take a break when tilted

very good post, ty

I struggle with it a lot myself, I noticed that as long as I dont lose 25% of my total bankroll in any given session. I can maintain self control and quit. Losing 50% of my roll, Im just overwhelmed... I cant stop the need to get it back. After a big win, if feeling hot still only allow yourself a 25% decrease from where you maxed. Ive found that psychologically helpful.

I have no problem with that. And if you see that the card is no bad thing and then throw the game and take a break.

also think if you play more tables it gives you less time to "dwell" on the bad beat
