Maby this will help someone having trouble with discipline, cuz it sure helps me.
First of all, always give yourself loads of credit when doing the right move. May it be a good fold or a nice call or whatever. And I'm talking about saying it out loud to yourself like:
"Damn, I'm awesome at folding!"
"I knew I had it, boom!"
"No worries, my next hand is AA"
Things like that. Positive thoughts. Because when we fail, and we do.
S-e-v-e-r-a-l times, we all are our worst bullys and brilliant geniuses at blaming our self etc. etc. theres no end to it.
And it happens to all of us, all the time.
So weigh this up by not forgetting to give yourself the credit aswell.
I for instance always tell myself on a hard fold when I'm hesitating:
"It doesn't cost me a damn thing to fold, it's FREE!"
And you can imagine with the
odds that 90% of the time I'm right. It WAS a good, nice and free fold.
And so what if I have to fold my queens cuz of a flush/straight draw or something else, I dont care because next hand I get AA.
Next hand is ALWAYS AA!
Remember that. It makes folding much easier.
And if you had a bad run/day at the tables just slowly bleeding out because you stuck to you'r guns folding crap cards all day long then so be it. You played like a true hero. If you get a good chance then by all means take it, but dont be afraid to go down with the ship like a true hero captain. But most ppl loose it and does some crazy half-assed non hero Steven Segal move when there's still a chance!
Be the hero instead and discover that it's absolutly NOT impossible to play yourself back up again from minimum chips since you bled and took the GOOD chance.
It works for me with the discipline.
Cheers!
