Hi, I've been playing poker for just over a year now, but have only recently started taking it more serious and began reading forum posts, and poker books and trying it all into practice.
I currently have a br of $100 and I have been trying to build to it playing the Dirty Dozen Sit N Go's on william hill poker, but I am finding it hard to continually cash in these and my br isn't really moving anywhere.

Its a 12 persons tournament with two table of 6

Buy in = $2 + $0.40
1st = $12
2nd = $6
3rd = $3.60
4th = $2.40

Also if you win 4 in a row you win $2000

Has anyone else played these type of sng's, if so have you got any advice for someone like me?

The tournament fee seems to be very high in these! (40cents instead of 20cents like it would be for some other games with a $2 buyin).

I played two of these because they gave me free tickets after I signed up.
I was shocked by how they were playing in it. The very first hand one player made a raise and then another made a big re-raise to 300. I had KK and went allin. They both called. One had A4 and the other had J7. The J7 was both spades. There was a J on the flop then an Ace on the turn and a 7 on the river. J7 got triple his chips in the very first hand. I was out :( lol

I would guess that winning the jackpot is a bit of a longshot but this is why you pay the extra 20cents. Maybe even though you have to pay extra to play in it it might work out okay because maybe the players who choose to play in these ones are alot worse than players in the other games? I would guess that the players who have been playing for awhile or who play alot of games would not play in those jackpot games because the tournament fee is too high in them. So maybe this evens things out and makes it worth playing in them?
I only played two of them with the tickets I got and have not played any since. I was pretty shocked with how the ones played that I entered in. I mean J7 really?

for that buy in i would go to the bigger tourney more people gives a way better chance to cash just keeping your chip stack up throughout the first couple breaks always helped me.

I don't think this is good advice.
I have been told that it is common to not cash for say 10 tournaments in a row and then cash in one but only for a small amount. You can go for a long time before you cash for a bigger score.
I think you would be better off in Sit'ngos but I am not so sure the Jackpot one is the way to go because that tournament fee is going to eat up your bankroll. You will need to be cashing in them more frequently than regular Sit'ngos because the tournament fee is 20% of the buyin.

Maybe add in the occassional cheap tournament with lots of players in hopes of getting lucky with a bigger score but I don't think it is the method you would want to use for building a bankroll.

The higher fee is most likely to dump cash into the $2000 in case someone wins 4 in a row.

I think the only micro sng on ipoker with a rake smaller then 20% are the heads up sng's which are 10%

Wow you are absolutely correct! The only ones I see that have 10% rake is the DoNs (Double or Nothing).
Not til' you get to $5 buyins do they lower it to 10%. (which seems ridiculous imo... I mean a network looking to build up it's player base & compete with the BIG ONE... should certainly be looking to do something different & innovative.. ie. charging LESS rake than Stars instead of way more).
Would seem like another no-brainer but then again, PlayTech/iPoker don't seem to have alot of business sense (or brains). I play a bit on there but mostly MTT & if I were to play SNG on there it'd be the 30man SNG (the $5's & $10's 'reg.' speed seem like turbo structure of other sites because of how much the blinds increase, they're not terrible and are full of fish.... the $2's have pretty rotten structure (faster blinds than the $5's & $10's, making them an early shovefest)).
Not a big fan of 10man STT-SNG either. I much prefer the 9mans.

I just noticed they've got a 10center on there, only 10% rake (1cent) 180man but RIDICULOUS structure > one of them is 1min. blinds, the other is 4min. blinds (@ the 1hr. mark, blinds are 300/600 ante 100, lol).
