I believe in cash games a very LAG confusing style of poker is needed as you need many upswings to cover your downswings and are in perpetual need for risk.

I believe in tournaments a very TP style, not TAG, is better because you don't want to scare people away from your draws, you also don't want to risk anything (even 1BB) until you really need to spend it.

What are your thoughts?

I believe the optimal playstyles are almost polar opposites due to the late-game phase of tournaments meaning 1BB is literally a third or half of your stack if it lasts long enough.

In MTTs, playing a TAG is better than a TP style, especially when playing draws. Basically, being aggressive gives you 2 ways to win the hand (hitting draw or forcing opponent to fold) while playing passive means you must hit your draw to win.

Late in an MTT, if 1BB represents 1/3 or 1/2 of your stack, something is very wrong.
