I don't have a "default" anything when it comes to bet sizing. I change the bet size depending on the situation, what I'm trying to accomplish, the other players, etc., including how to play on the button.
I think that once you get predictable the other players get an edge on you.
Good luck.

Are you talking about tournaments or cash games? When i play in a tournament if i raise from the button will depend on my cards and the other players, but i like to make a 4 blinds bet in the early stages from any position if my cards are very good.

I is 2 is sufficient, although at the moment the trend in poker that you need to put 2.5.

I raise 2 or 2.5 , but I might raise/bet more , dependingly on how many have entered the hand , if my hand is strong or not , the sizes of the stacks (mine , of the blinds etc)

Depends on stakes, depends on players in the blinds, depends on type of poker game, depends on image, depends on how the table is playing, depends on...

It depends on the number and quality of my opponents. Some people like to bet larger in the button as you are making a larger pot when you have position on the table having shown strength. I do not let my cards affect my bet size to prevent opponents from getting a read.

Care to elaborate? do you tend to bet more against worse quality opponents since they are more likely to be trying to limp (and call) with trash?

Many people suggest making larger bets when you are OOP in order to discourage action, therefore I imagine by default based on that logic you make button raises smaller as you want to have post-flop action in position.

That is a tuff one. You are giving away a lot of information. While you may think you are not giving away information, many times you are. I always 3x or 4x opening a pot in a game and stick with it no matter what. You don't know if I have AA or 56. I think changing your bet, naturally you are going to bet more with a better hand.

If you play tournaments, dont raise 4-5 with a hand and 2-3 default, after a few times thats gonna be obvious.

Switch your raise sizes over and over, be unreadable

This answer just about sums it up. When you sit down at your table, assess the dynamics and play accordingly.
