There is 23 players left out of 180 and I'm sitting in 19th place with about $7,000 in chips. Blinds are $150/$300 with a $25 ante. I don't see a hand for 3 times around the table... Should I try raising since I'm playing tight and try to take down a pot or 2 even with rags?

Here is where timing is everything. A good time to steal pots from tight players not wanting to bubble. Main thing is have patience and agression with the right hole cards. You've done a lot of right moves to get this far, just keep it up! I'm sure with a little fine tuning & practice you'll get to where this situation doesn't worry you at all.

For me this part of the game is where I steal and push top hole cards very hard against tight stacks, making sure to bet hard enough to where they don't want to take the risk of loosing too many chips. Ya gotta make 'em pay to play, shut down the limpers and chasers.

I think you have to be careful against whom you shove your chips in against. 19th place out of 23 left means most players have you covered. If the table is loose, you need a good hand. If its really tight, I would still want something of value, even 6-5 can work. Would never shove with 8-2 just to try and steal. Most players aren't going to notice that you have not played a hand for 3 orbits. You can steal, but I think a backup plan is usually helpful. Good luck.

U have to be first to put in the pot PF... and not in early position. also you want to have people still left to act to have average stacks. short stacks may call because they think they'll get 1 on 1 with you and they are running out of time. and big stacks just call cuz they have chips to spew away. in that blind stage i like to go 1000 - 1200. hope u cashed that one!!

Thank you for all the resonses... I did not see 2 good whole cards for a long time, but I felt like there were times where I could have possibly raised to take down the blinds and antes. I had a good feel on my table, and apparently the table had a good feel for me since they raised by big blind every time I was in it. I will remember to try to go up against average size chip stacks next time I am deep in a tournament.
