I was playing some poker at intertops ring games Blinds were 0,25/0,50$ I was on the button holding AA with 40$ stack, and at the big blind was with 240$ or sth like that big chip leader stack. I noticed that if player open to 3bb raise the villain (chip leader) re raises to 10bb with almost every 2 cards, from pair 66 to Ax, so back to the hand. I raised 3bb he re raised 10bb then i decided to raise to 19bb, he called fast enough. Pot is near to 30$ now and i had only 24$ more left. The dealer open Ks Js 6s, the villain checks, and i pushed all in. He called and showed As Qs! :) What do you think of that play and the hand at all? Thanks for the opinions!

WP! That flop you cant do much because you have less than pot behind so the shove is the right play. Just bad luck he has it. :(

Given that you had made mental notes of how to get it in against that villain, your did fine. There is the possibility that had you shoved pre, he would not have called.

Probably a real shame that the T came and beat you, but you read the situation great and made a correct move IMHO.

U think his raise sizing pre is good? He doesn't have to stack off, but can't he raise to like 25-30BB?

Probably would not of hurt, but since villian was raising with almost any two cards, a raise that big might of caused a fold. A min reraise is not horrible in this spot.

In the situation he described of course it was good. We would all want all our chips in the pot HU with AA. Anything bigger pre and villain just might decide to give no action..

There may be more involved, but as described he got it in like he wanted to.

the cards played against you, actually the flop, but what you did was correct imo, just that time to time we need luck and in this specific case you didn´t, but unless you see 4 suited cards in the board don´t be afraid i think, sometimes flushes happens but the are very seldom, and less often against just one villain

Well sure, it worked this time but if villain will call 19BB why wouldn't he call 25-30? We can't think about this as "well, we got it in all the same" the fact is we want to size pre to get it in easier later on in the hand.

Other than pre though the play looks fine

you should shove preflop as you have committed almost half of your stack, and it was almost sure that villain was going to pay you, considering how much money he had on the table. the flop raise was good because in case he has a flush draw, pushing your chips will put him on a tough spot. if your stack was bigger your preflop play wouldnt be bad at all, considering you still have a fold margin with flops like kk2 or qq10.

you has to called 3-bet and see, what happen on the flop, is wrong you wanna to go all-in pré-flop or pay more than 1/3 of your stack in cash games, if u invested more than 1/3 you go to all-in

I would play the same way.
With this flop I do not think there is a person to act otherwise...my opinion.

Several of you seem to be missing the point.

OP states that this particular villain had a pattern. This is an important read. OP uses that pattern against this villain, which is jujitsu poker.

If hero here shove pre, there is less likelihood that villain will come along. As it works out villain had a hand, but what if villain has a hand like T8s, which is certainly playable, and according to hero's description would fall well within villains perceived range? He might decide that it wasn't good enough to come along. Hero wins the blinds, end of story.

I'm not suggesting that OP shove pre.... That's a horrendous play. I'm Just nit picking sizing here pre for the 3 bet DJ. The 3 bet sizing is just a bit retarded IMO

Edit: totally missed that people are suggesting shove pre here, thought DJ was misunderstanding me lol. DON'T SHOVE PRE HERE... End of story

I think you played the hand fine, they were probably gone all in no matter what happened. The only way I can see out of it, the guy is a real aggressive players sounds like, when he checked the three spades it might've been a clue. That's the only way I can see you folding the hand. Sometimes when aggressive players check the trying to trap.
