just wondering peoples thoughts on how to deal with the swings of the game.

i've had a pretty sweet run this past month and have been quite happy with that however now it seems to have all gone tits up as they say.

i find myself getting it in good with the over pair v under pair situation and have come out as the loser and have also got it in with the likes of AK v AQ, AQ v QK, QK v JK etc etc situations and also coming out behind. There are also those games where you are a shortstack yourself pick up a hand that you can not pass up 77+ AT+ etc etc only to be absolutely dominated yourself and not dish out the beat.

I'm not on about 2 or 3 games but more like 100+ games which is all adding up to around an $80 loss which i can shake off easily but it seems my confidence/mood seems to be taking the hardest hit especially when these situations come at crucial times which can either set you up for a super deep run or in some cases stick you in a chiplead position in a sit and go where just 1 win turns it all around.

does any one have any suggestions of how to handle this situation? i feel although i should just plug away and take it but what if a few weeks down the line i'm $200+ down and still everything feels the same?

whilst writing this out here is just one example:

You just have to keep playing and realize that you made the right move.

Be happy that you are doing the right things and it will turn around.

The worst thing you can do is adjust your game and start playing differently.

got to see the swings and walk away at times no matter how frustrating that is. Sometimes taking a day off or few hours turns things around.

Bad beats happen check your betting patterns. Mix things up slow down if things on the board can hurt you.

Everybody gets upset when they are happening consecutively, but if you are playing it right, in the long run you will be profitable. Just take a deep a breath or some time off and you'll be fine. :)

down and upswings appear all the time, keep on your game, show your best poker and dont get tilt. There will be winning times again, if you say you cannot deal with it right now its right to say that you take a couple of free days without grinding!

As a poker player you must learn to live with swings because even if you always make the right moves it is still a gamble and you can lose but you must just look at the % if you are making the right moves because the wining % is pretty accurate
