Hey guys. Me and my friends started playing for money finally. It's only 1$ buy-in but it still makes the game more "poker" than playing for nothing. Usually its only 3 or 4 people though. I would like some constructed criticism on my playing and how I can improve please.

When going into the game I focus on:
1. Playing good hands in good position
2. Don't bluff the big stack
3. Don't pretend to be Phil Ivey
4. Think before you act. (Ask yourself WHY? am I doing this...)
5. Try to put my opponents on a range of hands
6. Play tighter since my opponents play very loose

Notes on my opponents:
Bill
1. Bets half the pot when has a hand
2. Bets very small when has a monster
3. Over bets the pot when trying to bluff or steal the blinds
4. A lot of times he'll call down to river with nothing because he never believes I have something. He'll call down with A high.

Bobby
1. Calls my raises with total rags when he's big stack
2. Commits all his chips on a weak flush draw

These are some of the hands I play against Bobby which I would like critiqued please.

I have about 17,000 and Bobby is the big stack with probably 3x my stack.

Hand 1
I checked in the BB with 73o he calls in SB with T3o
Flop: 687 with two spades.
He checks to me and I bet 1500 into a 2000 pot. (I bet that much because I didn't want to give straight and flush draws a good price to call. Was this bet good? Should I have bet more? Less?)
Turn: 9 spades (He makes a straight)
He checks
I check because of the spade
River: T putting a straight on board
We both check
Should I have tried to steal the pot or were my decisions correct?

Hand 2
I was running low on chips so I tried to steal the blinds.
I raise with 6 4o in the BB
He calls in the SB with 10 spades 2
Flop: 356 all spades
He goes all in
I fold.
Correct play?

Hand 3
I raise in position with K9o
He calls
Flop: 7 J 5r
He bets 1500 into 2000 pot
I fold.
Should I have called or re-raised?

Hand 4
I raise on button with 99
He calls in cutoff with 34o
Flop: 6 4 2r
He goes all in
I call
Turn: 7
River: 4 diamonds ( He catches trips and eliminates me)

Any tips? Thanks guys :)

hands 1, 2 and 3 are ok,

hand 4, you should push 99 in the button being shortstack, your friend has a wide range and 80% of the times you will be ahead with 99

Dont be angry on the results, your goal is to learn the game and tou have great approach that guarantee progress so keep doing what you doing, taking notes and spoting the habits on your opponents is really dificult and when you are able to gain such info on your opponents like on this two it is really great job but sadly it can mean that those two are to easy to predict that playing with them wont benefit you a lot in term of learning and inproving but it can be profitable playing with them so take the money that is out there.

About hands, at the first glance you might try to avoid those speculative hands into making big pot, for example you know that he will chase draws and you overbet the flop with weak top pair, that kind of player might as well call you with two over cards or one overcard that can connect and that can put you in a bad position, remember big hand big pot, small hand small pot, minimize bluffing and overaggression, folds are fine imo, pay attention in what situation he donks bet on flop and take a note, it is also valuable information, this is just post on first sight to get subscribed on tread, when i get home i could take a better look... If you keep taking information on them and observing you cant really go wrong at the level you'l be playing,

your range of hands and correct positional play will be enough by itself to exploit fishy or inexperienced players leaking all their chips.

and if you are able to correctly read their range for example if hes going to bluff into you alot you want to get position with big and spec hands as much as poss.
You will also be able to start controlling the action post flop knowing if your ahead or behind when you start doing this you'l be crushing beginners significantly

jj20002 is spot on, you can't be fooling around with a shortstack.. don't be afraid of losing value when no one is calling, just think about doing the correct thing in order to go further and have a chance to win the whole thing
