Sometimes I would be on BB with junk in a limped pot. No action down to the river. Then the BTN would suddenly throw a wild bet--e.g., earlier tonight, literally $1.24 in to a 12c pot.

Total bluff? Flopped monster and wanted me to call thinking it's a bluff? Just insanity?

Makes no sense to me. Risk that much for 12c.

Overbets like this really polarise villains range to total bluff or a monster, i only call with a really strong hand unless i have reads

The times I've seen this it's been someone who's slowplayed a monster hand, then realizes suddenly that he's not built a pot and goes for it all.

I'd wait for a better spot then happily call (when you've made your hand). If the villian has initially made the play chances are he/she will again.

Then again I've seen players make crazy river bets and called only to show middle pair.

I never call these. The reward is definetley not worth the risk from way u previously would of had in the pot. Usually it is a monster or a stone cold bluff but in my opinion never worth it to call

Normally thats a bluff but at these stakes you'll find some absolutely terrible players so that could be their normal bet. It's hard to say sometimes. Might be their first time ever playing, testing it out on the small stakes.

It would be quite obvious after only 10 hands if it was their normal bet.

Could be a bluff to steal the pot or a double bluff cos they had the nuts all along

could also possibly be a misclick but at that level I would lean more to the first two suggestions

NEver call those. Most of the time there is not bluff. I do not know who told them but lots of players do this and lots of donks call . In a multiway pot at microstakes do not think too much when a player raise like crazy on the river. Fold cose they have it. They flopped the nuts and they just w8 for someone to catch something. The basic principle of slowplaying played like c.rap. This and minbetting untill the river with a pair or hopping to complete their draw.

just fold it. why would you wanna risk so much money when you have so little money committed to the pot. just fold it and dont even think abt calling him again the next time it happens

Only call something like this with a top notch hand, either its a bluff or someone playing extremely tight at multiple tables. Chances are you are behind and if not, its not worth the risk to call something like this.

You shouldn´t call unless you have reads of him or a monster hand. If turns out this guy does it a lot (then = bluff), so wait for a good hand, make him believe you have nothing and then it´s an easy double up :)
