Few quick questions:

Is the CardRunners subscriptions worth it? It's like $30/mo. Do I get access to every video, are there any hidden costs/limits?

Also, do you find it necessary to specialize in poker?

For example I play a lot of SNG's, but also grind NLHE micro a lot. I have recently started grinding PLO too (the rakeback is relatively huge). So do you think to make a good profit in the future I should start studying one format a lot harder, or can I just generally become average at every aspect of the game and still make a good bit of profit in the future?

Cheers

It can definitely be worth it if you put the time into it. One thing with CR is that you can get it for free if you're playing on FullTilt. Since you're outside of the US, that should be no problem for you. Check out http://www.trulyfreepokertraining.com/ for more info on that, because you can earn even weekly memberships through earning enough FTPs. Also, there really aren't any hidden costs I don't believe, they are all up front. Some of the video training sites have sign up fees, including CR, which is $100(unless you sign up for a year all at once that is).

As far as specializing, that's all going to depend on who you talk to and your personality. I find myself to be decent at both tourney and cash games, but I much more prefer cash games, so that's what I mainly spend my grind on. I know some people that will always have 4 ring tables up and 4 SnG's going at the same time and that works for them, so it all depends on your personal preference. I think that if you concentrate on one more, then you will get better at that, but it depends on how much work you put in as well...

Cheers for the reply :)

I didn't realise there was a $100 sign-up free. That's a bit anoying. I do study a lot. Spend a lot of time on these forums, HA thread, reading books + watching vids etc. My main aim is to be able to beat live games. My local casino is full of donks and it's basically money just waiting to be taken.
I feel if I can beat like 50NL then I should be fine to smash the 400NL live tables.

Anyway I may have to hold off from the CR as it's $100 sign-up fee. There are still lots of unused resource online I suppose.

That is the main thing I think a lot of people don't keep in mind. If you haven't already put time into forums or some of the great free ebooks or even the free videos on some of the video coaching sites, then you probably can put off spending money on them until you check the other options out first. One good thing also with the free CR memberships through FullTilt is that you don't have to pay the sign up fee, you just get auto-access.
