Whats the correct range to isolate here with 20bb and 4 opponents behind vs a 8bb shove?

77+, ATs or 88+ AJo+ or 99+, AQo+?

PartyPoker - 3500/7000 Ante 875 NL - Holdem - 7 players

UTG+1: 8.56 BB
Hero (MP): 20.53 BB
CO: 19.33 BB
BTN: 23.53 BB
SB: 25.67 BB
BB: 22.92 BB
UTG: 29.23 BB

7 players post ante of 0.13 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.37 BB) Hero has 7

What kind of read do you have on your opponent? Do you know the kind of hands he/she goes all in on? Me with 77 I would have to fold in that situation. I would need to have AK,AQ or AJ suited or at least JJ QQ KK AA to call that shove raise.

I'm not much of a tournament player but I'll give you my gut feel for this one. With 4 opponents behind, all but 1 of which have us covered I would fold 77 here. Our only other option would be to shove and with that many players behind I would want AK, QQ+. I would consider adding AQ, TT+ to that range if we have a tighter image that may increase fold equity.

It all depends on the notes about this opponent. I am not a professional, but in my opinion, here you can call with 88+ AJo +. 77 would certainly fall.

77 seems like a very reasonable iso , i dont play many tournaments but your first range something like 77+,ATs+,AJo+ i would think is pretty decent to iso with. Possibly might be a little loose though so i look forward to other answers.

This is honestly a fold no matter how you try to slice it up
77s are too weak to put 1/3rd of your stack in and have the BB shove behind you.
Or having any caller in position behind you will leave you dreading.
Its 90% fold
10% ALL IN

So the correct range you should have is AK AQ+ JJ+ playing out of position
but thats just my opinion

without more info: use push-fold charts (google for them)
with more info: adjust the charts to suit your opponent
