This is embarrassing, it's the one poker book I have read and have made notes on. But I couldn't fathom Phil's starting grid. My bet was speculative, as nobody raised pre-flop I figured 9 would be a big enough kicker if I hit a king and there was flush potential.
As for playing from a sheet. I understand poker is a game of circumstance and I try to take these into account during my play but as a newbie I like these guidelines.
