what I like to do is go up by 1/2 of my previous bet

Example. 100 preflop, 150 flop, 225 turn and then about 325. Alot of the times when I do this, players fold on the turn. But just don't keep doing it, they will catch on and make sure it won't make a huge impact on your stack if you end up losing the hand

I generally follow that same pattern, increasing a bit depending on the strength of my hand. Although, I must admit lately I have been experimenting by slowplaying and not c-betting after the flop (especially if my hand is particularly strong post-flop. Although, that can backfire I have noticed that it can also help to throw people off and I like to mix it up a bit (like pokerking said, you can't keep doing the same thing so that they catch on).

Slowplaying is dangerous a lot of the time, your basicaly giving them a free/cheap card that could help them but when it works you get a big pot. I still like to use c-bets...they also show where I stand in the hand

Continuation

Ive hears that 1/2 pot size bets are good. Not only does it keep with the continuation but also is a very good value bet to get a read off your oppenent. HE either pushes and u get out cheap or he folds and u win the pot

it depends on the size of the pot and the size of you stack.

for cash games, 2/3rd pot is good, with exceptions when you are thin value betting, bluffing or whatever, but generally 2/3rd is good

for sng's, 1/2 pot + 1bb is a good c bet

In those situations if I raised sure I will thow a continuation bet out there of 1/2 pot as I want to keep the lead. I am wanting to win it right there. However, if I don't hit the flop I may check the turn and river.

Erm... I think there's been a misunderstanding here.

A value bet is one you want your opponent to call because you have the best hand and you want to extract more money for him. If you're intending to make your opponent fold, or if you plan on folding to a shove, then pretty much by definition it's not a value bet. You're not betting for value, you're betting for other reasons.

Back to the OP, for me c-bet amounts depend on a number of things: stack sizes, villain tendencies, our image and pot size not the least among them.
