Hi guys!I want to ask you something about I was thinking for few days and I'm not able to find an answer.
My question is: If i keep the same strategy for 100 tournaments in a row (0.10$ 360 players), when I have more chances to hit a higher frequency reaching final table, when I keep the same strategy or when I'm changing it (because of last few hands that were nonprofitable for me)?
Now let's make it simple & stupid:
Imagine that I have in front of me three letters A, B, C.
I have to bet on any letter and if the bead hits the letter I chosed, I win some imaginary money (BJ example).
Now, I have two simple & obvious options to build my strategy:
1.To bet 10 times in a row on letter "A". (Math, luck and lack of luck)
2.To bet 10 times on any of 3 letters. (Luck or lack of luck).
In terms of poker, on a sample of 100 or more tournaments, it's possible that strategy N2 can be more profitable than N1?
If answer is no, then I have to say that no matter what strategy you have, you will be able to hit FT with any of them if you keep it the same all the time. Is this right?
P.S. Do you know a poker book or article where this aspect is related?

Interesting point of view However, I think that in 100 tournaments they could touch you 50 times the B and 50 times the C without any problem. Eventually you will hit something, but I think the most efficient strategy is the one that adapts to the context, otherwise, you would be playing like an easily exploitable robot against adaptive players.

You can not deploy the same strategy in the same tourney every time as you would face different types of opponents every time and by applying the same game plan you will be a true target for the smart players.

Rotate strategies per table, not per tourny.
If you've honestly discovered a magical strategy that works most of the time to get you into the money in tournies, I'd say stick with it. Mixing up your style from tourny to tourny isn't what does you any good. When they say you should mix up your style is when you're at a table with the same people for quite a while. That's when people adapt to your primary strategy and you need to switch it up some. Here's what I would suggest.
1. Start each tourny with your magic strategy.
2. Each time you move to a new table, return to your magic strategy.
3. If you're at the same table for 3-5 orbits, use strategy #2.
4. If you've played strategy #2 for a 3-5 orbits, go back to the magical strategy.
P.S. It would be good to adopt another strategy every so often so you can rotate between 3 or 4 strategies. I'm not quite there yet, but I'm working on it.
