Hi all how does this chart = 20% opening its confused me to hell

So I tried looking at the image and it was really blurry. I even pulled my screen to 500% and still couldn't see the image that well, but what I did read it said, "by following this example it will get your VPIP near 20%" in your post you said "20% opening."

Your VPIP is how often you voluntarily put money into the pot, basically it's how often you are playing hands. 20% VPIP on average is a good "Range" to be at on average,it includes hands like 55+, A9s+, all Broadway cards K7s+ and Q8s+ If you are saying that it's referring to opening then maybe it's saying because it's -EV to limp you should be opening 20% of your range from X position. Again I can't read the chart clearly but from what I can see this makes sense.

It says on the button open all aces all king all broadway all pairs q7o+ J8o+ T8o+56s +64s+74s+
To me that’s sounds a lot more than 20% in that one postition
Sorry about that using my phone atm does this help?

It helped some... I can see that there are words or letters in the white boxes but can't read them unfortunately.

It's a weighted opening range. Utg maybe 10% btn 40% but all positions considered it'll be around 20% on average.

I’ve never heard of owt like that would it be worth trying noticed my win rate in the late positions isn’t too great compared to my middle position

Yeah. Your win rate should go up the closer you get to btn. Long term anyway!

What sort of weighted range would be about 15% or would 20% be good enough I know the winning vpip is around 12 -20%

Fr around 20% is good. I mean it depends on a number of your post flop skills. The less developed they are the tighter you want to play.

I think that that’s the black rain opening hand chart, things have developed since then. But obviously the more players our opens need to get through the more powerful a hand becomes.

Take K5s for example. Opening that utg in fr would be terrible. But from btn or sb it’s standard.

Weighted opening ranges are standard. Opening 20% of hands from utg in fr would be far too loose.
