I have reccorded a session of me playing $25NL on stars. I put the AVI file in a copmressed zip folder to get it down from 1.6 gig to 600MB. Is there anyway to compress it further?

How long is your video?

One hour equates to roughly 200mb for me - I just use the 'produce video as' and follow the steps.

the video is one hour long..
Wow. I don't think there's much you can do after recording it. If you try to compress a pre-recorded video file too much, the quality suffers immensely. You've already compressed this one a bunch. The key is to have the correct record settings. I don't think there is much more you can do to this one.

I think Rex got a nice size/time ratio, but he used a low frame rate before recording.

Yeah, the frame rate isn't all that important in these things. So what if the mouse movements look a little jittery?

If you're displaying 15 frames per second instead of 30, that's a lot of extra data that you're cutting out.

I did a Google search and found this freeware frame rate changer. I'm sure there are others out there.

If you are using Camtisia, I highly recommend saving the movies as a QuickTime MOV file and utilizing their H.264 codec. I just saved a 640x480 window with audio, 27 minutes long , and it came out to 27MB. It looks crystal clear too. If there's an interest, I can post a tutorial on the settings.

Would love to see that, icemonkey. Is that with audio?

Yeah it's with audio. It's part of what I do for a living, my web design company produces a lot of video and we compress it specifically for making it look great on the web. The Apple h.264 codec is the absolute hands-down best thing for compression ... I'll download Camtasia now and then I'll produce a video on how to do the settings and compress.

Awesome :)

Watched your video by the way and thought you played very well. There are some free ICM calculators out there, so go and find some and punch in some of your tougher situations to see if you should be pushing/folding in the closer spots (like QJ in your STT). Should help some.
