Hello all

I was wondering if there are any successfull online MTT players who would be willing to coach me

I'm talking watch me play and then analysis of hands

I'm successful live but I'm getting destroyed online

If your coaching shows an improvement in my MTT results I would be willing to give a % of my MTT winnings

PM me if anyone is interested

That would be great, I could use another look from someone at what I may be doing wrong, or right

Send me a PM when you have some time

What site do you play at? I'm on BOL

I don't think that's how it works.
First and foremost, MTTs have a lot of intricate nuances. You must already have to have a good understanding of all the applications of such nuances. Second, it takes a lot of studying, playing and then reviewing your own games. Analysis is a part of the learning process.
Third, as far as I understand a coach can help you solidify your game, not teach you how to beat it.
Fourth, nobody has that much time, to watch you play. Any and every coach will ask you for your hand history and review it. Give you feedback.
Finally, I don't think any one will be willing to do it for a part of winning. Most coaches have a set hourly rate and that's the way it works.

In my honest opinion, go for a coach when you have a solid foundation, i.e. when you're good at it but want to become better.

Ok here's the thing though, I am successful live, very successful.

I cleared 70k last year playing 1/2 and 2/5 no limit cash games

I have a great understanding of the game, I'm just losing online

What I really want to know is if I'm really just getting extremely unlucky, or if there is something I have to tweak for online play

I never had a coach before, never needed one, and I have been playing much longer than most of the guys I see with coaching channels on YouTube, those guys seem.to do well online, but not live.

I'm wondering if online is a different animal I need to adjust too, if online isn't rigged ( which I believe it's not) , then I should be successful online as well as live

I haven't worked a real job in over a decade, just grinding poker, I'm a well known reg at Fox woods. All the guys I know that make tons of cash in the casinos hate online poker for some reason, they only play some big tournies once in awhile.

I read online players are supposed to be better, but what I have seen so far is 90% aggrotards, not talking good LAG players that are able to put me on hand ranges and outplay me, I'm talking people making huge mistakes when I'm a 80%+ favorite and drawing out on me in key pots

Like I said, I never had or needed a coach before so I didn't know how it worked, thanks for explaining it too me

First of all, Congrats on your success. That said, you've a big transition to make. As I understand, you're a cash game grinder, trying to switch to Online Tournament. Online tournament is a different kind of beast. Trust me, I was a cash game regular (live), not as successful as you though, but enough to call myself a poker player and I have made that transition.

Playing these many number of years, as you have, you should be easily able to tell it yourself.

That's true, Online is a beast in itself.
I would recommend you to start by playing the game you're used to, in your case, CASH game, rather than making the switch directly to Tournaments. Once you get started you'll start to realize that there are a lot of nuances to online poker. Maths, becomes a crucial part of skill that you need to beat these young prodigies, wizards. Software, a key to success.
You'll have to learn a lot and there are a lot of things to be learnt. Take it one step at a time. Don't assume that just because you were good at Live, that will automatically qualify you to be good at Online Poker.
It's a battle and you'll have to work on yourself.
All the very best!

Thanks for all the imput, tou got my gears turning

For now I'm going to do some more studying, srdy the math aspect and learn to use my HUD better

Being a live player for so long has made me develop a strong ability to make great reads on my opponent's, I don't have that edge online, it seems to be all about the math and ranges and going with that.

I really like the idea of not having to travel to the casino and live there for weeks at a time to make my nut, playing in my own home really appeals to me

I am going to do what you said and play ring games 90% and play maybe 2 or 3 tournies a week.

The reason I have been playing tournies online is because I enjoy it more, and I get more satisfaction from doing well in one, I have had so/so success in live tournies, but I didn't play very many. My goal is to become a successful online and live tournie player

What blind level should I start out on for ring games? I'm thinking 50¢/1 for now, until I build a decent BR

Again thanks for the imput

GL and grind hard

On a side note : last year was a really good year for me, I ran very pure, 70k is not at all the norm. Most years it ends up that I average 15 dollars an hour when all is said and done, so I wasn't a highroller by any means, but I have been making a living playing cards for a long time. And I have went broke a few time and had to pawn shit to get back in the game, I wasn't always the best with BR management, I was never scared to take a shot at 5/10 , but as you know 2 or 3 bad sessions when your BR isn't right can kill you lol

Ask on the Cash Game sub-forum, they might be able to guide you better on those.
I'm not a cash game grinder, I play tournaments exclusively, frankly because I could invest a lot of time and was used to online gaming (not poker), that might not seem important, but it does help a lot.
