In this next video from DragTheBar Chipsteela/EndlessJ (Jeremy Menard) discusses the early stages of the Sunday Million tournament he went on to win. There are 6 videos - make sure you view all 6 parts.

Chipsteela is an MTT coach at DTB and has had some great MTT successes including this one.

Once you watch this 6 part series you will want to take advantage of the 7 day trial at DTB so you watch the entire video - it is very good!!

Hope you enjoy! Jeremy will be in responding to any questions you might have.

In the beginning of the second video, where you have 99, you say that you really don't think he's checking trips on the flop, but then you give him enough credit to just call his re-raise on the river. Isn't this situations we really look to get it all in with?

I understand you looking for info, but against an unknown player don't you want to have this chance to shove it in and hope for a call from lesser hands? There are quite a few hands that are calling there and only one that beats you. So I guess I'm calling you nitty!:p

I would agree that my approach to this hand was a little on the nitty side, but there was also some thought process behind my nitty ways. Realistically based on the way my opponent played this hand I felt that he would basically always have either quads or air. I just don't think he checks back that flop with an overpair in this spot really ever, and though he may check back if he flopped a boat i really think he'd be raising the turn to try and build a bigger pot. For me at this point in time in a well structured tournament like this it made more sense to just call and perhaps gain some valuable info about the villain's game, instead of shoving and not getting to see his hand if he has air or getting snapped off by quads. People usually play in a way that makes some sense, and for me in this spot it just didn't make any sense for him to have a hand he would call with other then quads based on the line he took. Ya dig?

Oh, I totally dug.:D Was more or less playing devil's advocate there. You're thought process through the whole vid was so well explained there really weren't many questions to pose. Good job and very nice take down.

In this 1st video where you didn't play the pocket 4's at the end - what would you have normally done there?

In the hand you flopped a set of 4's and won the monster pot, did you have any fears that villain held a higher set?

how much of a factor does the fact that you have bottom set play into your decision to put the pile in there? I mean I know folding is out of the question and flatting is horrendous so I guess I answered my own question but I was just wondering if being out-set was a concern?

Honestly, it is always of some concern but if its the case so be it. Set over set scenarios don't happen that often, and if I am playing this hand with the fear that I could still be beat with the 3rd best hand possible then I feel like I'm basically scared money. I did play the 99 hand pretty conservatively but that was a completely different scenario. I want to get the most value for my hand in this situation, and given the fact that this board is pretty draw heavy i think I have a great chance of getting it in in good shape especially because of the line I decided to take. If he does happen to have a higher set then fml, and its on to the next one...

Not sure what you are asking here as I don't see another hand where I had pocket 4's after looking back through the replayer. Care to elaborate?

Sorry - if it makes you feel better I just watched the 1st video twice looking for it - but it is in video 2. :(

You got 44 in MP and folded - you said you didn't know why unless you may have timed out since you were on other tables. I was wondering if you had not timed out would you have limped or raised? (blinds were 20/40 and pot was unopened)

Extremely fascinating. I have always wanted to "sit with" a good player through an entire tourney, and hear/understand their playing rationale and strategy. Thanks for this. Can't wait for the second part.
