Pre flop 3x standard raise by me is called by SB only. I am on the button, villian is SB.

Flop gives me second pair and second nut flush draw.

I bet then get checkraised on the flop, I call.

Turn is brick. Opponent checks again. Weakness or much strength is what i am thinking (did they try their little bluff then give up?).

Situation is freezeout tournament
Middle stages- not close to bubble but have gotten rid of most of the fluff/donkeys
I have same amount of chips as villian
He is a TAG, me too (probably a bit looser than average so far)

What do you guys/gals:confused: think?

why bet? just check along with him most likely as you said you either have the best hand (and probably still will if you check it down) or your drawing slim to dead. When people do weird shit, slow down and be cautious. Or test the waters with around a half pot bet see if you get raised again or whatever. or you can try some really funky stuff like check along with him then on the river go all in and confuse the crap out of him. All three choices i like, maybe not the third, would definetly work better live but the other two are prime.

Sounds like a bluff to me. Was the board texture conducive to a str8 draw? If so, that's what I would've put him on, making his bet look like a way to slow the pot down a little and give him a chance at a cheap card.

TAG pretty much shows what's going on at the table I would think...

take the free card see what happens, maybe the dude bets out again or checks his bluff/nutz again...either way the big decision is on the river, you played it right.

I have seen a couple of times in my life situations where FTA will check-raise on the flop AND the turn. I've only seen it at low, low stakes though.

You obviously check and hope to river the Ace of your suit.

Not enough info mate.

What was the flop? What were your hole cards? What were the blinds? What was the chip stacks of both you and the villian? What were the stakes? was this online or live? and of course.. why wasnt this posted in the hand analysis forum???
