Ah, the old check raise. This is when you check and then raise when an opponent bets. It has the potential to get more money in the pot, but has the disadvantage that your opponents may fold. Use sparingly.
Do not use in kitchen games if you want to keep your reputation intact

Well check-raise work for you and you have soem value or if you wanna bluff.

Exemple: You had 22 the flop came 2 K Q - you can check and then raise, probabbly the villain hit the K or Q, but you are way ahead him because you has a set.

Or you had AK and then hit 2 7 8 in the flop, you can just check and then raise for bluff.

check raising is something i used to do alot-i think ppl tend to fold to strong check raises-i used to cr when i hit a set most ppl fold to a check raise -but now instead of cr a set i bet out to diguise my set -sometimes il bet sometimes il check raise it keeps the savy players guessing-and makes me less readable

Not always a disadvantage if you have check raised as a bluff.

Usually check raise big drawing hands or sets in multi way pots without position, when you know someone is likely to bet.

Sometimes I just check-call to get more money in the pot so I can check-raise on the turn or river. I do that only when I know I have the best hand otherwise I do not give them opportunity for another card.

I like to check-raise when I wait for a bet from an aggressive opponent in position. And when I have something valuable but not too strong for farther playing: low pair or good draw, for example. If he calls I surrender and check-fold on turn. If folds, this will get him may be more calmly later.
