I just saw a HU vid that said to cbet more on wet boards and less on dry boards.

I thought it was the other way around?

Don't you want to bet on the board that is least likely hit your opponent? Yea ok sure a thinking opponent will fold less on a dry board if they know you're cbetting with air, but still in general isn't dry better?

I think by "more" they mean make your bet bigger. The basic reason is that dry boards don't usually have many draws that you need to charge and you generally don't need to bet as big to get folds.

Wet boards are more coordinated and therefore you will get peeled by all sorts of draws which is why you want to make your bets bigger.

I typically bet 2/3 to 3/4 pot on dry boards and closer to pot on wet boards but this also really depends on opponents. Ex. Against a fish who will never fold, we will bet our value hands big regardless of board texture.

a "wet" board is one that is likely to hit a lot of hands and is very draw heavy. if you suspect the villian to have a lot of broadway cards in their range as they just flatted your opening range with position on you and the board comes QsKsTs that would be considered a very "wet" board as the villin could have a ton of draws as well as one and two pair hands. had the flop come 2d2s7c that would be considered a "dry" flop are there isn't a lot of hands they could of started with that that flop could of helped. the reason we want to cbet more on "wet" flops is the % of times were cbetting for value we want to get as much value as possible and for those times are cbet is a bluff we want as much fold equity as possible.
