I prefer to play a bit of both.

Also depends how much free time you have.

I mean if you run deep in a tournament it could be hours.

I tend to have a good amount of free time and I also feel like I happen to play better in tournaments because it's easier on my bankroll and I make a good amount of final table appearances. However, sometimes I'll be coming short of the money with the buy ins being around $70 or $100. I'm just wondering if it's better for me to play tourneys instead of cash games like 1-2 no limit and losing a lot more then that. I'm not scared to play cash I just feel like I always get screwed in big pots... Lol

I prefer to play micro-tournaments, if my bankroll isn't that good and cash games otherwise :D

I prefer tournaments, and the reason is that in tourneys people play more relaxed and do not shove all in for every thing.

For me relaxed quiet game is better.

I love to play in tournaments. I like all the tournaments. Whether or guaranteed freerolls. Not only like the ones where you need to earn tickets. For a long time to play and a chance to get the money through two tournaments, small. I do not like the cache. Better to spend the money for the tournament than the cache.

i really prefer sngs and mtts, its really about your skill set, if you have really good deep stack post flop skill then cash is where it is at, if you have a good preflop understanding and icm skills then sng/mtt is the place to be

Depends on what kind of time you have...tourneys can go 3-5 hours or more, so if you don't have that kind of time, then SNGs or cash games are the better way to go. Also depends on your strengths as a player. Most people are better at one or the other (cash vs. tourneys), so you should go with whatever you are strongest at. Personally, I play cash games when I don't have a huge block of time and smaller buy-in tourneys when I do have the time to play.

on ACR this depends on what's in my account

If under at least $200, i prefer to stay away from the cash games because the regs who play at ALL levels seem to not give 2 shts about their buyin at any level where even my full amount would be a max buyin.

So I used to just play the $40 jackpots at that level until I had a good enough amount to play at a bigger table. I could also do standard tourneys, which I've done some of lately, but I feel like the risk/reward isn't significant enough in a lot of these. So I just do whatever is necessary until I am ready to play cash at higher stakes, because that is my preference and what I played exclusively live since Black Friday until this November. The least I think I have sat down with has been $800, but I prefer $2k or more. On that site, thus far, I don't believe I've risked more than $5k initial buyin.

Depends from your `appetites`. Tournaments are more popular because it is safer way to win.

Completely false, MTT's are the riskiest way to win money possible due to them having the highest variance.

I love them both. Tourneys are fun but the time commitment and variance are too tough for my schedule.

I play mostly sit n gos and tourneys... I play these cos I'm playing Poker for fun really... Cash tables I always think are more for for serious players trying to increase bankroll... Not saying I play to lose... just rather pay a set amount and relax and enjoy the ride...

mtt's is what i love. every tournament i play there is a decision a time where im up against it either get chip lead or pretty much maybe out of the race. Tournaments against this group here is less fun:) can always find people to pick on in regular events which are playing poorly. The tournaments here the skill level is a bit different so is a lot harder and usually will run into many more solid plays and hands:)
