I brought this up before and everyone acted like I was crazy. It happens to me a lot. I come into a table win great for a few minutes then go hours w/o a decent hand. I say play until you hit that wall then cash out and find a new table.

I like to play live,I usually go 3 or 4 times a month, generally limit myself to 3 or 4 hours of play each time, and I'm pretty good at walking out with more then I walked in with, but in those 3 - 4 hours that I play I probably win 10 hands tops out of maybe 20 hands that I get into ,and out of those 10 I probably bluff a couple of them, you maybe have to remember live is not as fast a game as it is playing online, takes alot more patience.online for me is the same thing just double everything.

Maybe tighten up more, and yea shift tables. Cant say that I play cash games often I mostly do tournaments. Im guessing that cash games involve more calculating pot odds and stuff. Maybe find a book dedicated to winning at cash games? Ive considered this. If I could play cash games well and win I could use the winnings for tournament tickets. =P

Having a big stack can be an advantage, especially if you are in a big pot and have a nut hand or a big nut draw. Nothing is guaranteed, but I can't see quitting for fear of losing more.

You can always leave the table if you are not good at deep stack play. That way you can preserve your bankroll.

The best is to leave.

Remember cash game is so volatile your original buyin + wins are always at risk every hand.

My first day on Party Poker, I am coming to about 4-5£ per hour on 2/4cent :) I think when I hit 5x of my 10£ (23now) you can see my bankroll progress.

How do you view stats on pokerstars like that?

Thank you, I have my first little downswing :p I think because I was tired and I was not patient . went up 17£ the next day and then after playing hyper-turbo and it made me play cash games worse, went down back to 13£ profit.

Shame on me I lost it as soon as I hit enough points for withdraw bonus. new start on Coral Poker, need to take this real free money more seriously (not like play money). I also distracted, which affected my play. from good as you can see TG to loosy play (I sure playing few Hyper-Turbo affected this). I had really bad bets, My king high flush ( my hand Qx suited) was beaten by only one card that could win was Ax not suited and the miracle 4 spades came in ;/ that one of the bad beats at 2/4 stakes. I am going to set solid rules when I start to play crazy after I am tired.

make very tight rules that make sense.

I have walked from casinos four times in first hour entered. I won big thousands and was not giving back rules like that.

Time rules money loss and won rules. This is part of brm and you have to accept them and soundly live by them if you want an improvement on your bankroll and to be steady day to day week to week month to month.

Is hard but you walk in with what 50.00? or 200?? set a rule double up is when leave or if you blow the hole roll or whatever and live with that and those rules you set up.

Once you do this you will be successful and be able to stratagize for deeper more productive wins etc..

I have rules based on my bank at the time. I have time rules based on expectations in a certain frame i play a lot of mtt and free events too or smaller guaranteed tourney events and have rules on how long play how many etc...

got to be focused and be able to read when its just not your day so you lose 20 bucks not 200:)

I saw a guy yesterday with 700 BBs at a 10 NL table (you can only post up to 100 BB). I'm not going to lie. I was "jelly" when I saw he had a profit of 600 BBs.

It all depends on how confident you are playing deep stack play. Obviously when you have like 200 BBs you are not looking to get it all in with another 200 BB deep stack with only TPTK and possibly even overpairs unless you trapped KK with a 4 bet smooth call with (AA) I've seen it work frequently :D . Mainly you want mid to high top sets, nut straights, nut flushes (on non paired boards of course), and high boats to get it all in with deep stacks.

Looking at your stats indicates you're being results oriented. I say this for two reasons: 1) Your fold percentage is low. 2) Your questioning your stats on less than 500 hands.

I think your tendency is to call when you get a piece of the pot and play to the river. Which means you're going to have swings. This tendency probably becomes even stronger when you have been winning.

I like playing deep stack because I feel I have good internal timing for making plays and finding spots. But there are two things that are much more important: 1) Am I tired? Playing poker takes concentration and that adrenaline can be fatiguing even when it's been tempered by a few years of playing. If I can't think, I can't out-think. 2) Where are the fishies? I have very little interest in proving I can play better than the regs at the table. I want to catch fish. And if there's no fish, there's no reason to be at the table.

It's hard when you're in the US. You can only get so many tables :(
