A skpye group is basically where if you have skype or download it. Someone can start a group and add your screen name to the group. Then everytime you come online you will automatically be in the group conversation. So I was thinking we should start a Cardschat Skype group. I personally think it would be good for talking about hands, sharing strategy and railing each other. So if you are interested in joining this group leave your skype name in this post and I will add you to the group! :D

Also you don't have to have a microphone or webcam. You can type in the chat box if needed!

Yeah that is a good idea. My skype is wrung24

It's a little faster than forum discussion but harder to keep track. A thread could be opened where we post the highlights of the conversations

tried to do this over a year ago. to no avail. but if more people get interested
I think its a good idea. the only thing I would suggest is that you have headphones if there are children in the house.
One group I'm with uses a lot of foul words.

A lot of us use MS Messenger.
It lets us give digs at each other during Invasions and stuff, plus it's a bit less distracting as you can ignore chat when busy and then go back and re-read it.

Yeah msn is a good tool to use. This is cool because you can go back and review old messages people post and read conversations etc. It is real easy to use! Anyways if your interested add your skype name and I will add you within 24 hours :) Ok thanks guys!

I prefer Skype myself.
There's actually alot of 'study buddy' groups online doing this sort of thing. I think it's an excellent idea.
I would join except for what I'm personally looking for is to get in a group (a new one as I've been in some before) where players have similiar interests (ie. Joe So&so multi-tables the $14 turbos on Stars & is looking for similiar players to join a group, to discuss, chat, rail/sweat, etc. OR, Suzie So&so has been playing MTTs on Stars & FT for awhile, have read stuff like HOH, WPTvol.1, etc., is currently playing $10-$25 buyins and is seeking out others of similiar interest).
I'm assuming (guessing, thinking..??) that wouldn't this group here (the one in this thread) get kinda big....wouldn't it?
GREAT IDEA though!!!
I'll keep my eye on the thread & maybe jump in after a bit.

I understand what your looking for. I myself wouldn't mind starting a group like that. I think that this is a good way to find people to do that with. I can always take you off the group list at your request!

my skype name is mattwomack if you want to contact me personally

What do you play?

Joining the main group would let you find people within the group who play the same games as you and then you could set up separate chat groups alongside?

I like this idea and will come in handy if we ever get the CC educational sessions off the ground.

Please add me. I will most likely just be chatting most of the time and not using a camera or mic

K, a little confusing... I've got 15 CCers on Messenger, and 5 on Skype... should all be on one server is my thought... I get messages coming in left and right... a little talk about organization might help, perhaps w input from a mod or two...

OMG!! I have a hard enough time just listening to (reading) your chat in the chatbox on the pokerclient, nevermind actually hearing/reading it over skype... eeeeek

Isn't this what you guys see when you open MSN?

All kidding aside, this will be the future of what the poker sites will be capable of.

I agree with you. I just thought skype was easier because you can actually creat a group that is always up wether you are online or not. You can just chime in when you feel like it. I am not a big fan of having a bunch of message boxes open or creating a chat everyday. This is a neverending chat box that everyone can be in.
