Its me again with another hole in my game. I find myself getting annoyed for a lack of a better word by that one guy on the table( usually in tourneys but mostly in cash games) who just always seems to have that better hand then me. I very rarely have the discipline to get up from the table or what im sure i should do and avoid playing him/her in hands. It really just erks me and i wind up giving all money or tourney chips away trying to prove what i don't know. I don't know if anyone has ever felt like man i just want to beat you so bad im willing to throw my bankroll out the window or make stupid raises to make you fold.... like i said before this is for sure an area where i need help. Let me add that im ok with the verbal abuse, name calling doesn't bother me actually it kinda makes me laugh but thats another story. I know with some help i can keep and maintain my bankroll alot better. Thanks again and cant wait for your responses

Work on your mental game. The symptoms you have described is something called "Revenge Tilt" where you take things personal vs a certain opponent and can't wait to get on a hand with him/her in order to win it at all cost. This is not a good approach to the game because there will always be losers and winners in this game. You can't always beat him but you will beat him eventually. You have to accept this in order to move forward with your game. Don't let Revenge Tilt influence your decisions. Just play your game and let time determine who has the better strategy to make more money.

Hope this helped.

Recognize that what you're doing is letting your ego get in the way of progress. This is a typical thing typical players do.

Let's be reminded that a typical poker player does not make money in the long run.
You need to do what winners do. If you don't know what that is, find out.

This ^^^^^

Play your game don't go out looking to win against this one guy, there are up to 7 more people you could be making money from, focus on your game.

Great post you nailed it.
