Suited connectors are implied odds
hands and should only be played when stacks are deep (relative to the blinds). In general, you want to just muck them when you brick the flop. If you take a bet flop, bet turn line and get raised, you will get paid off big when you hit. Again, stacks need to be deep for this to apply. Also, if someone calls you on the flop and raises the turn, it generally means you ran into a big hand.
As has been said, the "correct" way to play them is very scenario/game dependent and more specifics are necessary.
