I been playing poker for about 6 months now. Everyday for a couple hours. I was doing decent in the beginning playing on bovada. Playing sit n gos. A few 10-30$ tournaments. Cashed in a few. I also do local tournaments. Sunday Tuesday Thursday Saturday. And recently really started to focus on live and completely stopped on-line play. I been playing 4/8 limit Holdem. As there I feel more comfortable as the bets aren't out of control. And I will go up sometimes but compelty suck out others. I don't seem to be improving. I've been on a losing streak for about a month now. Anyone have any ideas what I can do to become better? I spend countless hours watching videos reading on here Watching videos on YouTube and twitch understanding odds just nothing seems to be going right. Recently from cash games I'm prob -$2000.

Hm, you can try to work with a coach or use training software like ace poker coach. In addition you can try to use Leak Buster. It analyzes your game, finds your leaks and help to prevent them in future.

If your going to stick to strictly limit games, I'd highly recommend David Sklasnky's book "The Theory of Poker".

This is an excellent read which I can guarantee will improve your game.

Basically what he does, is teach you to think like a professional player.

Others may not agree, but I find cash tables play differently than MTT"S. If you had success in MTT's I would goback to doing that. Good BRM is 20x the buy-in. Hope that helps.

yea seek some training such as coaching or just read books, see training videos, follow and see twitch streams where pros usually play and you can see their thinking process etc.

Hi Imjosh and welcome to Cardschat. I think sometimes you can study too much, and all of that is running around in your head when you are trying to consentrate on the game you are trying to win. I have never read a poker book, have had no coaching, but I do watch Poker Tube and that helps some. But everything I know about poker has come from this forum. I got in here and asked a million questions and always got great advice, and then I took that to the tables to see if it would work for me. But all of this was taken to the tables one small piece at a time. You sure can get ahead of yourself trying to become a better player. Well GL to you

Hey Imjosh, maybe you should get a 2 days break, and get back to play some MTT, best luck.
