So I use to be able to cash frequently in MTT. Took a break and came back to bovada, well I have spent a good 200 bucks on about 15-19 tournies and cashed in probably 2. I am not sure if the game has changed or if there is something I am doing wrong...but usually everytime I was putting my tourny life on the line I was ahead at least 60-80% favorite to win the hand. Any tips just leave below and I will check back to read them. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Typical mtt varience really, <20 tournies is a very small sample. If you want further feedback perhaps post some hands or issues you are running into with the mtt's.

Do you find the play in general to be different etc. Perhaps you are adding extra pressure if playing outside your br, typical brm for mtt's should be 200 buyins so in your case a 2k br given your playing roughly 10$ mtt's, obviously this is to ride varience if you are a winning player.

I can't catch a break on Bovada. It seems that the best hand wins more than other sites, but when it doesn't hold up it's at a crucial spot that just kills me. I've all but given up on the site for that reason. I'm sorry you're not having very good luck, but glad it's not just me!

I agree- you need to play more tourneys. 20 isn't a very large sample. Lots of variance in MTT

How long was your break? If it was long i am sure that the competition got stronger. About the bad beats, well nothing you can do :)

If your br is 200 dollars, you should be playing 2 dollar buy ins, 5 at the most. You should have played way more than 20 tournies before being busto even wihtout cashing once. If you were getting the money in as a 60-80% favorite every time, why would you think you were playing bad?

Thanks for the response. I never said I was playing bad, just cant figure out why my hands are not holding up and very suprised at what people are calling with. also maybe I should manage my bankroll a little better. that is something I have never been very consistant with. I will wait a month or so and save up a small bankroll and than try just sticking to the 2-5 dollar buy ins, thanks guys

The only tip i have is to stick to your game plan. If you constantly make the right decisions things will even them self out eventually.

I think that cashing in about 2 out of 20 tournaments is about average. It might be higher in the smallest buyin games. If you are use to getting in the money more often then you might be playing a bit on the tight side.

I do not think it necessary to have 100 or 200 buyins like some are suggesting. For recreational players I do not think it makes any difference. I know I would hate thinking I was restricted to playing only $1 games with $200 in my poker bank. That would be real boring.

Finally got a legit win i feel. but my question is the hand I went all in with. I had A 10 was right before dealer. small blind reraised my raise and I went all in (we each had about 15 BB) he shows 77. and they hold up. did I play that right or should I of shoved pre?
