he was already in the blinds, so it's not like he called or anything. k-9 is a pretty weak hand for that amount, but i had a good size chip lead on everyone.

he bets 600 and i raise to 4k come on he should have known i had the top pair. but he calls anyways. now was that playing a donk play or what do you guys think?

first off use the hand history converter https://www.cardschat.com/hand/ and dont post the results in the first post in your thread

if you did put him on a bluff or a weak draw and you wanted to take it away from him on the turn then I can see why you elected to play on the flop

he's in the BB and with no raise preflop that is why he was playing 6-4 in the first place.

Your play on the turn river seemed legit... the thing I'm wondering about is why you called 600 on the flop with nothing but two overs? Maybe if you had mid pair or something and thought the BB was trying to steal, but especially with a rag flop you would have to assume that he had at least a pair he was betting. You were only 200 in the pot so calling 600 more just to hit a 6 outter doesn't seem like the best move here. I could be wrong because you won the pot but I definitely see why he called you a donk when you called with 2 overs. Maybe if the pot was like 5k and you just had to call 600 you are getting better odds, but not here. JMHO.

he called you because he had a pair and a gutshot draw. He missed and he's pissed off. It was a loose call on the flop but if you truly believed he missed then it's not a horrible call. And you're right, you made it obvious you hit the 9 so he called knowing he was behind and had to catch up...

Actually, the only 'donkish' thing you did was call 200 in early position with K9 offsuit preflop. You got away with it but that's not a profitable play.

The flop's good. You floated aguy in postiion hoping to take him on the turn if he checks. Not a problem with that.

And the rest you played perfectly.

I just would check the preflop action. Not a good spot to be getting involved with the hand.

yeah.. pretty much a donk... :) limping in with K9o from early position is basically donking out.
