I was recently talking to a friend and we had a debate on how to play a call station and was wondering if anyone had an opinion on this topic?

value bet. Since all calling stations are not the same, how light depends on your evaluation of how light a particular calling station will call. How much is also opponent-dependent.

And the lighter a specific calling station calls, the less you should bluff.

Here is my approach, a calling station when hitting their hand on the flop will stay until the river then hit their second pair; then I use pot control until I have two pair or better then I will start building the pot against the call station. Then the more in depth we go about a calling station, for example, there are many different types of calling stations and we have to define which we are up against and adjust to each one but I still use my first part of this post as a starting point.

TPTK is a good starting point since every calling station will call with less. From there, you can fine-tune by determining their individual calling ranges.

For example, if calling station A's minimum is TP any kicker, you'll want to have TPTK or at least TPGK to value bet him. But if calling station B's range is wider, such as any pair, then you can look to value bet a wider range such as your second pair hands.
