Well, I'm quite a newbie to the game, I know the basic stuff and that's it. Now, a lot of my friends are really in to the game and know a lot of things about Poker, and I hear them talking a lot about the odds they have. Now i know what odds are, but I don't know how to calculate them. I would like to be able to calculate them myselves, since I also play live games :)

edit: Just while playing I was wondering how I should bet when I have a certain hand, like a lot or just call?

if you are playing on line there are a lot of odds calculating programmes that you can subsrcibe to when you sign on with your cash.

I have also googled it and there are heaps of articles that tell you quick ways of calcutlating your odds.

Here is a good resource for memorizing odds:
Texas Holdem Odds - Probabilities for Poker Hands

Or you could just do the math. (i.e. if you have seen 4 cards on the board and 2 in your hand, there are 46 cards left. If you figure you have a 2-outter, you have a 2/46 or 1/23 or approx 4% chance of connecting).
