Hi,

I played in a live game today, suffering some major bad beats. I am trying to calculate the overall EV of my plays on these hands, as I know the decisions made are positive EV, although as I have noticed in post analysis, not as positive as possible, due to bet sizing errors and a higher level of passivity than necessary.

Anyway, my question is, can you determine the overall EV of a hand by adding the EVs of each street. I have PokerStove for determining the equities, and since I lost these pots at showdown, I have perfect information for these calculations. So, is the formula for overall hand EV simply as I give it below, or is it more complex (given I have perfect information in these cases)

EV(hand) = EV(PF bet) + EV(flop bet) + EV(turn bet) + EV(river bet)?

I have searched online for calculating EV of poker hands, but most sites give me information about calculating the EV of a particular bet, or calculating EV vs. villian range. I haven't found any information on this, and since I am new to post game hand analysis, I don't want to start my journey making incorrect post game analyses.

I will be posting some of the hands in the Cash Game Hand Analysis section later tonight, after I have had a chance to make some initial impressions about them in my personal analysis session.
