This is a discussion on C-betting AK within the online poker forums, in the Learning Poker section; hello
i just went over some thought...
suppose you get AK in early postion, you raise, someone picked up QQ in the middle position. the middle guy
In my mind, I play AK (especially suited) very aggressively. When you are building ranges, I think you are giving the 3-better too much credit. I think you put him at QQ+, I am not going to really talk in GTO language, Im not good enough actually. The reality is that good players have a 3 bet range which includes ; bluffs like AJo, suited connectors, and some smaller pairs. So knowing that I am not going to give up AK, just because I do not smash the flop. Of course you have to re-evaluate but if I am the final preflop agressor, because if I get 3 bet, I will probably 4 bet depending on stack size. I will definitely C-bet and then evaluate after. I am sure that you will have players respond who will be better than I am at putting this into better terminology
