My bankroll is about $45, what size buy-ins for MTT are optimal? Should I not play anything over like $3? Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

45$ is pretty small BR to build strong strategy for the future calendar.
As for me, I'd like use it next way: 2 Bigger (4-5$), 2 Saturday MTTs with same buy-in 4-5$. You left 20$ more: 11$ buy-in Sunday Storm, and again two 4$ buy-in evening MTTs. I mean poker stars poker client.
If you want play different client, use same buy-in MTTs

optimal buy-in of 90 cents, but it is possible to participate in a hot 1 $ and big 1$

remember less people in tournaments the less varience so i would look for $1.50 with 80 ppl on average in it but until you hit $150 one huge bad run could and will break your bank roll

I think better to play 50 cents sng, but it also depends on your experience

I was under the impression that for MTT's you want 100 buyins as the variance in MTT's is huge and its easy to loose your entire roll (if poorly managed).

I would consider own experience and confidence at first. If you make depo $45 and at once want to play $1-3 tornaments, you will lose all with 95% prob (if you ain't a poker genius). Play 10-25c until you have solid domination and good profit in big selection of games. And then cautiously go higher.

Yup. Use your $45 BR to buy into only 7 MTTs.

Solid advice right here.
