firstly.. gl.

$20 is way too small a deposit though, if you want to start off at 2nl you need at least 20 buyins but a lot of players use more in order to go broke.

can you redeposit if you lose this money? because if you can you're better off taking a shot with it in order to have a decent bankroll.

if you're new/learning, then I say deposit $40+ and start off at the 2nl cash tables.

If cash games [6max or FR] are not your thing, then get onto the DoN Tables, if you understand the dynamics of those games. You can quickly build a roll from those games, but starting with $20 is maybe being to optimistic. I agree that $40, if you can go that far, would be far better and will give you a little more room to maneuver.

lol **** sng's, you have to learn how to play with 100bbs!

30 buy ins at the next level, then you can move up.

so for 5nl (0.02/0.05) $150!

oh.. and read a load of poker books, there'll be like a million threads on here about which books to get..

I'm deciding between starting to read through my collection of pdf's or starting up a session. :D

If you only have $20, max BI should be $1. The $1.08 Double or Nothings are probably the easiest way. If you are pretty good, try the 45 person SNG's. I think they have them for 25 cents. Either way it will be pretty easy to get to $40. In teh 45 person SNG's, if you go that way, play tight but aggressive, just let the donks beat each other out. When you have the best hand, don't be afraid to go for it. It is better to play to win in all of them then it is to just play super tight and let yourself get blinded out.

I started with $30 on Stars and ran in up to like $3k. I started with the Double or Nothings. I managed to squeeze a small ROI out of those games. Later, I started playing those 45 person ones and my ROI was huge. I wish I had just played the 45 person SNGs from the start.

There aren't any DONs on PS anymore. They have been replaced with Fifty50s. They're similar to DONs. Top 5 get paid, with half the prize pool split evenly and the other half split by chip count. They play similar to DONs.

Welcome to CC and good luck with your deposit.

They go reload bonuses quite often. They currently have one where you get a $5.50 ticket to a Micro Millions tournament. Promo ends tomorrow. The code is MICRO30 and you have to deposit at least $30. Any time you're making a deposit, it's worth it to check "My Bonus Status" in your cashier. If there are any current offers it will tell you the code in there and tell you what bonus you will get.

um, what. looking through this thread, there have been a few people who mention cash tables, and all of them say that you likely don't have enough money to play there. two people say deposit $20 more and start at 2nl. Basic BR management is minimum of 20 BI for any game. So your max BI is $1. Go find $1 games, or less would be even better. You don't have enough to do decent BR management at cash tables. SNG's are easy, just run them up to $40, then switch to cash if u want to play cash.

$20 won't do much. You'll be stuck playing .2/.4 or stupid games like that. Ever gone to a casino and play cash games? How much u sit down with...like 100 or 200? then do the same thing but a little less. Like $50 or $70 would be good. You save money and time. With that much money, u can play .25/.50 nl or even .50/1 nl. the games are so much better and the players are smarter...so fewer donkeys. They will be more like your local home game players
