I've done it. Exploiting Bingo players. Occasionally some luck. But to do it consistently, that be harder. I often see consistent names on leader boards, but upon watching their play, I see a great deal of variance in the ranges played, and yet success. It's tempting to conform to that style of play - stupidly wide ranges - or for some it seems like any two cards will do. I have have a friend of mine that describes himself as a good poker player that plays bad cards.

Any comments?

There are no good cards or bad cards - only decisions and strategy - and the correct play changes with the circumstances (effective stack size, position, ICM/payouts among others).

Learning what works and what doesn't is a process and if you aren't willing to try new things you will be leaving money on the table.

Watch your opponents and adjust your play based on how they are playing.

Trying to bluff every hand at a very loose table is a good way to get eliminated for instance. At a very tight table playing only monsters cannot be correct etc.

Good luck to you!

Playing against a LAGger

I'm in the process of trying to become a LAGger myself (i.e. a Loose Aggressive player, or a good bingo player). Trust me, it is extremely difficult to play this way and play it well. My goal is to figure out how to play well and then go back to playing tight with LAGging thrown in. I have seen success as far as making it on the "leaderboard", but cashing is a whole other subject. Anyway, the theory behind playing almost any two cards is if you can get in cheaply (say 1 BB) then you may be leaking chips almost every hand, but only 1 BB's worth. Whereas if that 43o hits, you can easily bring in 20 BBs on the hand because no one sees it coming. The biggest thing that throws a monkey wrench in this type of play (i.e. the thing that hurts me the most) is when I'm sitting at a table of players who raise 3-5BBs every hand when they have premium hands. I can't get in cheaply so i have to fold and just start spewing chips, or I have to shut down and play TAG again. To be clear, TAGs should be betting 3-5 BBs whenever they hit a premium hand. That's where the AG comes in. If you're not then you're really playing Tight Passive (TP?) and that style can allow LAGers to take advantage of you.
So if you see a LAGger at your table, and they are having success, don't try taking advantage of them by luring them into hands with flat-calls, that's what they are hoping for. instead, push them out of hands, or make them pay to see a flop with crap cards, by betting a decent amount when you have a decent to premium hand.

My opinion is that a "bingo" poker player can not always win. It is a matter of time until it is "read" by a professional player. Before staying at a cash table, it is advisable to study about 10 minutes of players at the table.

I like to play a wide range of hands . You just can't play them all hard . Try seeing more cheap flops with cards you normally fold and see how it works . You might be surprised .

I like to play a wide range of hands. It keeps the table guessing on what you have.

To get a really nice win you always have to play really good but you have to get really lucky to,but if someone is really playing bingo,he is going to losse all his chips sooner of after

I like to smoothly get as many chips in the pot as possible. If I am in the hand, I am trying to get you to commit chips. Sometimes it bites you in the butt, when someone passes you when you are tying to let them catch up so you can bet more.
In the long run is works for me. If someone goes all in and I don't have a great hand I will let them go, it only works until it doesn't though. And by then, it seems they can't stop. lol Then bam, two hands and out.

lately, more and more players who are simply pushing for luck more or less strong hands to play at micro limits are getting harder ...

I think sometimes "bingo" is really icm, game theory optimal, or playing their opponents range. The easy way to tell is to look at their long term results.

I consider AKo bad cards, because I frequently loose with them to small pocket pairs. Maybe someone considers them the best ever because he will always get an ace on the river or his straight to beat my set. You know what I mean? All cards are good cards, when they win. How nice a boat 7 over 2's on an unraisded BB.But when it comes to hand selection I prefer to stay with the stats and try only to play the most succesful 80 hands. For sure you can't play them all ALL/IN , but why not, the chances stay the same...:aetsch:
