I wanted to get opinions of how much my BR (w.r.t to buy-in) should be, I will be solely playing HyperTurbo KO 6-table SitnGo tournaments only.

I've read various articles online which suggest from 30-50 buy-ins and some advice even more, I should state I've already had good success playing these games from the $1 to $25 buy-in range. I'm thinking 20 buy-ins but that might be too aggro no matter how conservative/risky I play due to the variance of the game.

For the next 5 months or so, I will dedicate playing these tournaments once a week until when Uni is done so that's not a lot of sessions...perhaps 20 buy-ins is adequate? Thanks.

I think some info is missing.
How many in your S&G, 40 or 400?
How many ITM 1%, 10%, 25%?

If your skills are good enough 20 is ok, if not, I fear you'll loose your bankroll during the learning curve.

My bankroll management relies on 30 buy-ins for cash games but tournaments are a whole different story. This may sound a lot but you should have at least 100 buy-ins for tournaments, especially if you are playing HyperTurbo. Maybe something in the middle for 6-table Sit'n'Go tournaments, something like 60-70 buy-ins, if 100 buy-ins sounds too much. I would personally gain that 100 buy-ins just in case because variance can be a b*tch. 20 buy-ins however is insufficient in every situation in my opinion and won't last variance in the long run.

thanks for the responses, I think because of how little poker I will be playing until I graduate I will risk it with 20 buy-ins as I'm confident with my skills having had enough exposure...I think the above advice will prove even more beneficial once I graduate and play much more poker.

The good part is we can always reload our bankroll if we are wrong. So if we should have 50 buyins and we only deposited 25 buy ins, we can just reload with another 25 buy ins if things do not go according to plan.
