Hello, for my first post I want to share my opinion on brm.i start playing poker in 2008 (for 4 years, then i stop) and a year ago i start playing again but is sucks.I know is important to respect BRM. I said , let's respect BRM . But it became too boring to play tournaments with 1$ ,0.50buy-in or low then that ... the idea is that everything i;ve done i still can't make a finale table .Now i wonder i don't have patience or what? ??? usually i play tournaments ,rarely have in mind sitngo.if i have like $ 50 in my account i look only after tournaments with the buy-in start's at 3-10 $ .i know that is above what brm say but I believe that is too many fish in tournaments with lower buy- in .again i know the tournament buy-in is above, and i know respecting Brm is very important.

If you can't make the final table against fish what makes you think you can against sharks? If you're struggling then lower the buy-in. Is that simple. If it's too boring maybe you don't like poker.

it takes alot of time and volume to be able to make profit playing mtts, you could lose 90 buy ins over the course of a day/week/month and then win 500 buy ins in your next game.

if you don't have good BRM then you are just shooting yourself in the foot. with your $50 grind out 11c - 55c mtts and some 50c Sng's, it will be the only way for you to build your money as safely as possible.

i was where you are now a few years ago and yes the standard of play is awful at those limits but they certainly are beatable.....

with them being turbos the variance is just really insane and still to this day if i want to have fun and not risk too much i will jump in a game that low and play like an idiot so unfortunately that is what you are dealing with....

stay strong and try and grind your balance up to about $150 because then you will be able to play some $1.10 games and alot of them have 10 min blinds which will decrease the variance slightly.

best of luck

Well if you have $50, you can play about 16 $3 buyins and 5 $10 buyins. amd all the in between. So how fast would you like to lose your BR. When I had $50 I played $0.60 and $0.75 MTTS and $0.01/$0.02 cash games. But GL to you whatever you do.

You can play, and can actually win a huge prize, but this will be even worse for you, since you'll probably end up don't respecting BRM at all, sooner or later losing everything

I used to think BRM was for others. After countless $50.-$100. "refills" to various poker rooms I decided to try it. I have to play lower stakes than I want to play, but I stopped LOSING money overall. I am slowly crawling towards 10nl but at least now I'm going in the right direction.

Good going 44Blackhawk. I remember coming up those steps. But make it a fun goal. But still it's going to be tough at times. That is when you keep in mind your BR.

I'd try switching the game up. I noticed I've been getting bored in MTT mainly. I feel like if I bust out but I played the right 5-10 hands and things just went badly for me, then it was a success.

But I've been enjoying 10 man sit and gos, figure out the fish, get their stack or survive to gamble once, and then play real poker 4+ handed.

Been working out pretty good for me.

But definitely respect the BRM, ESPECIALLY when you're running bad. I'd try switching the game and do 10 of the lowest Sit and gos you can. If you loose review your hands, check the odds, make sure every decision was right. When you start winning then move up.

You can do the same with MTT's too, but I think moving to a shorter game should help, and I think it'll lower the variance.

Once you go up in stake, with limited brm, its a recipe for disaster.

You have to spread into chunks to have many chances.

As they say, the more entries, the more chances.
