Hi all!
Heres my first post, cant wait to get started on here, looks like a great way to improve my game! I have been playing poker for 2 years, more so in the last 6 months. I do well at the tables and feel i have an edge over most of the players at the games i play.
However i seem to only ever be playing break even poker, never making a deccent amount considering the time i dedicate to the game. I find it happens right across the board, at live tournements, online tournements and online cash games.
For example when playing 4 tables (cash), i gradually build up a stack on at least 2, playing solid poker and making good decisions. But then almost always, on one table, i suffer a with a fairly cold deck or a suck out, going broke on that table. So i spend hours grinding; making a small profit, to then suffer a large loss in a matter of seconds. Ending up where i began :/.
I suffer similar occurences in tournement poker. Spending an hour again working up a stack, playing tight agressive cards. Then it almost seems inevitable (sorry for the negative attitude) that i crash into a rough beat/cold deck. I.E. last week online I made the final 4, got my money in good with AA against 77 and my opponent hit a set. I find it a near miracle to go an entire tounrement without suffering a tough beat?
I enjoy poker, and im fully aware that you have got to expect bad beats and times when the cards dont fall your way. I also do believe that poker has a skill element to it.
Can anyone help? whilst im enjoying poker id love to make more money from it. Currently struggling to see how its possible :/
