Hi All,

I've noticed that there's been a lot of money wasted because no one will bet. I'm thinking of making a rule not to attempt a bluff unless there have been no bets until the BB and being careful with the amount of chips I use.

Does this make any sense?

I really appreciate your advise!

You are not bluffing if you have good cards, but you should try to steal blinds and antes when you see good opportunity for it.

Well it depends on your position and the players you are up against, if you are in position and have a marginal hand, and every one have limped and action is to you can open raise about 4-5x the bb and you should be able to steal the pot successfully, but as i said it depends on the players you are up against and your position at the table. Dont be utg and open raise with rag as someone might be sitting on a big hand and would easily call you or even 3-bet you. gl sir

I am not good with the bluff I must admit , still learning , don't bluff as much as I should and have to learn more about the texture of the boards that offer for bluff , the opportunities . For now , I cbet on A and K if I have missed flop on one opponent , I might try steal from position , mainly button , rarily CO if they have checked back to me , ofcourse the texture of the flop , the players , the previous action all taken into consideration , and ofcourse the small blind to big blind steal , if I succeed .

I see the sense in it? when you play tight and know enough players you can put sharply bet of 5BB, and rivals with a throw card

Every hand is speculative by definition. Your relative position, your relative stack, your VP/PR, your bet size variance, table image, opponents table image all play into the "bluff." As a player, I want to project maximum uncertainty against the opposing players.

I do it often in goods positions, i never bluff from UTG but in the button i open my range and perhaps i could play even a 7 2 if my opponents are weak

It depends on my stack and position, never bluff from early position, sometimes you can try from middle but from late like Button, bluffing is really good for me :D

Right and you can do bluff in late position but I dont think is a good idea at any UTG position. Not sure it worth the effort when someone else lead up with a 4 or 5 bets.

I have been playing a lot of Spin & Go games lately, and there are a lot of people that fold like 80% of their hands.
When I hit two people like that, it's going to be minraise 100% of the times (even with hands like 72o), and when they call or raise me, I know I have to be careful.
Sometimes these players even keep playing like that postflop, so a c-bet takes it down another 70% of the cases.
So basically that's a bluff pre- and post-flop then.
Of course, if you have calling stations or maniacs who 3bet you all the time, it will be less profitable.

Waooo .... bluff was my nightmare two days ago. I play a Satelite School Pass Big Bang and I lost a quarter of my chips and I try to recover it with a bluff. My position buttom and nobody bet just still me SB and BB, I put all my chips with a QK of suite. Both SB and BB pay me. SB show JJ and the BB show AA and the result was out of the tournament. BB won. Really I don´t bluff frecuently because I need be better doing that.

There are sort of hands that make more sense to bluff with, for example 3-betting with Ax suited, since having the ace in your hand makes it less likely that your opponent will have a strong hand.
Sometimes, your opponent is going to wake up with a good enough hand that they aren't going fold to a bluff. That is just life.

What you basically are saying you may attempt blind stealing. But blind stealing and bluffing are two completely different things. If you steal blinds, you steal blinds, if you bluff, you bluff. If you decide not to bluff, thats ok, but, no, your proposal does not make sense to me.
