If you have a pair on the board after the flop but there is a flush draw on the board and your opponent callls after you make a little bet they are probably chasing the flush. If the next card is not the suit of the flush draw you can usually make a big bet and some people will call. If the next card is also not on the flush draw you can usually bluff your opponent out with almost any hand. You can make a good amount of money if they don't catch their flush.

Not everyone chasing for the flush, for myself I'm used to make a small bet everytime in cash table then when they didn't hit the flush I'm push my all in, but sometime I don't do like that :p

Works until you go broke against someone slow playing a boat...

I agree with the boat, and chasing a flush on a paired board is very dangerous, the small raise 'to set the price of your draw is a big tale' I see that way too often

Re: pricing in the draw. Also, inducing bluffs is better than bluffing, imo, because most people can't resist. Bad players call too much AND bluff too much.

Or chasing a straight

Or has an overpair

Or is slow playing a monster

Or has a mid pair

Or is floating the flop

Or is drunk

Or accidently hit the "call" button

I am prolly missing another 1279423 other possibilities

bluff

I think bluff must be used sometimes against diferents opponents because if you have a strategy to bluff and someone learn your strategy after some hands, your bluff will break you.
Another day I have a few chips on tourney, and one player everytime raise when I was SB or BB. After two rounds I Knew he was bluffing and when he raise I pushed all in with another bluff. He payed with 5h and 7c.
I had Td Ks.

You have to know who you are playing against. There are some players if they have any pocket pair or if they hit any part of the board, they will chase you all the way down to the river. Bluff someone like that and your gonna lose a big chunk of your stack. However you will get paid off really, really well with your good hands.

Chasing a flush with a paired board? Early/middle in a tournament I would probably pass. I think I have had Ace high flushes cracked enough times to not chase that one. During hi blinds/antes with about 10 blinds left, ummm, I would have to take pot odds/implied odds into consideration, who the opponent is, position and what place I am going to finish before I decide what to do.

When the flash is not going to them on tern, I try to do 50-75% of the pot.
But when I see that someone can call I check or reset.
