In the beggining of a freeroll tournament is best to try not to bluff anyone. Most of the players are not afraid of lose at this point, so they can go all in with any kind of marginal hand and beat you un that moment.

Yes, it's true.. In the beginning of the freeroll tournaments there are lot of "bingo players", so they are going to all in with "nothing"... But this "nothing" can be after flop, turn or river changed to winning hand... So I recommend to be very careful in the early phaze of freeroll torunament...

watch to see what kind of players they are, if you bluff PF or on an ugly flop, you can still bluff, just keep it looking like a normal bet. each room is different too, I have been in Freeroll tournaments that felt like $100 buy-ins everyone was so tight! The trick is to get them to fold before they get too attached to their hand. If they like the hand enough to raise PF or bet out on the flop, dont bother. look for people limping or checking the flop.

look for people limping or checking the flop.
With this you have to be careful. They might be real calling stations, so observe them well and see how they react to your raises.

Early in the tournament it's indeed silly to bluff, but later it can work out if you look for the right opportunity. Just make sure you have the right kind of player against you to do this, because even later in the tournament there are people that got there by luck.

Personally, I don't think it should matter whether it is a freeroll or if it cost you a good chunk of bankroll, your play should remain fairly consistent of course at any level you have to adjust for different variables ie bingo players in this case but definately don't rule out bluffing , eliminating any element is limiting what tools you have available. Just look for the correct times where the percentage for it to work , works for you and your game.

That s true, yes! The best thing is to play as less as possible - excepting you have real good cards! They are kicking each other out, anyway...

never bluff in freerolls (in the early phase)
the longer the freeroll proceeds, the easier it gets to get bluffs through though :)

Freerolls are full of weak players, even on a very big raise, there will be many calls, and the word "bluff", for them does not exist. In the later stage of the freeroll, a bluff might make sense.

It depends. Now I'm playing only CC freerolls and I sit at the table where no one was raising even with big pocket pair , everybody was limping and you could take the pot with small cbet.

But I also sit at the table where people were very loose. One guy was reraising me on flop and river with only third pair. So watch out with who you play and be careful when to bluff.

In freeroll tournaments is a simply strategy...in early you play only strang hands...after the registrations is close and the fish player are going home you can try a bluff:))on the first hour a lot of players go all.in if you play only the strang hands you have the chance to win some money

Yes, in the beginning bluff can be the worst play, but in the middle or in the end bluffing is the only chance to win.

jeez, I hate freerolls because of that. Bluffing is a very important component in the poker game. So you can't play to your full potential if you can't exercise the basic strategy of poker. Freerolls are often a lottery and nothing more. Nevertheless, I still play freerolls, because I lost my bankroll, and I refuse to deposit again :)

never bluff, if you can not judge the opponents. And in online poker this takes a bit longer ...

I don't recommend bluffing very often in freerolls for that exact reason. Players don't care enough to play poker. So treat it like a lottery where sometimes you get to know the numbers ahead of time.

It's a real problem... Bluff almost doesn't work in freerolls, but it's unlikely to get monsters often enough to win or at least to get to the final table. So, yep, freerolls are just lottery. And maybe bingo players are right and this is the only valid strategy?)))

I would not bluff on first few rounds. Later, when I have enoug chips to play without droping out I would bluff when it seems good option.

I think like this. Freeroll players (not all, but the most) haven't enough a serious behaviour, so bluff will not work so good.

bluffing is a tool that should be used with caution any game mode ... the art of creating a doubt is fantastic
