So! This is where the game of poker gets you thinking. Firstly, its more than just the hole cards that you have. You need to consider what you know about the player(s) before you, and what they have been doing, and also what you have been doing; so table image is one consideration. Do you really want to be playing the same way throughout? You will need to consider relative stack sizes. Also, what will you do if you do raise, and are re-raised? If you will fold, then maybe you should reconsider what you do. Or will you be prepared to go all in? Don't forget, if its just you and the SB, then you have position after the flop. If there are others, then you may not and you may be out of position, so this impacts as well.
All this makes checking a really easy decision, and simply raising x4 also easy, but potentially wasteful in the long run. You need to give though to what you do and why and what you will do in response to further action, then and only then can you make your play.
