Yes. In fixed limit games, the betting limit for early rounds doubles in late rounds. So, for example, in Limit Hold'Em, the betting limit for the pre-flop and flop rounds is the original big blind. For the turn and river, the betting limit doubles to twice the "early" limit.
In most of your drawing games, the pot size in a multi-way hand gets so big relative to the original blind that anyone in the hand is priced in to call the hand down. Doubling the bet size in later rounds introduces a strategic element unto those later betting rounds.
