One of the largest mistakes that poker players can commit is to give check and call. It is a foundation mistake that can differentiate a player winner from a loser. Why is it wrong? Because its bet or raise is what it defines your opponent's hand. If you just give check/call, you do not have idea than he can have. He could be in a draw. It could have pair of the half. It could have the best possible hand. He can be in a shameless bluff. Unless you bet, you simply do not will know. Bet or to also increase it has the extra benefit of do you win the pot when your opponent gives fold. When you of check/call, you not only eliminate this possibility, but also it contributes with the pot size and makes your opponent applies more pressure in the previous bout.

Moreover, other benefit of increasing and to bet... Especially when you have position... Is just that if you are paid, your opponent generally will go give you check in the next bout. If you are in a draw, you will be able to accept see one more gratis letter. If you have a strong hand, but not the best, you can give check and to pay one bets on river. You could not pay a check-raise in turn, but can if allow to arrive to showdown for less records.

Wouldn't check calling work well if you're up against a very aggressive player/bluffer if you have a monster to lead him deeper in a hand?
Usually when I notice someone 3barrels oftenly and I think I am far ahead I flat call him until river where I re-raise him.

Good advice for beginners but there are exceptions. The one I use the most is when I'm pretty sure I'm good but want to control of size. I do this because I am confident I can win in the long run so I don't want to commit too much of my stack on any one hand without the nuts.

What if you're out of position? How often do you bet without hitting the flop? What if your opponents notice your aggression and start pushing back?
