I've been told to always bet into a flush draw. Is this correct? I had one last night and missed on the river. When this happens what are some options of play?

Here's the hand I'm referring to. Sorry I haven't had a chance to find a card changer(?) that someone had recommended to make the hand easier to read. If some one can suggest a place I can find one I would appreciate it.

This was an extremely tight table for micro. I think I took a risk just playing a suited 9/8 but I didn't have bad position so I gave it a go.

Again thanks for all your replies.

You are not betting into a flush draw here you are passively calling someone else's bet. Betting your draws aggressively as a semi bluff is different.

Fold pre, calling an UTG raise at a tight 9 seat table with no-one else in the hand with a suited connector is pretty bad. As played, whether to call the flop and turn is fairly close probably since tens may also be outs for you. I'd have to put his probable range (JJ+ AQ+) into Pokerstove to see how you fair. Probably better to just fold the flop and wait for a better spot.

Thanks for your input. This may be a silly question but doesn't a flush draw have more outs? Even if villain had an over pair the chances of his hand increasing to a full house were minimal at best. Thoughts?

On the flop, the overpair doesn't necessarily need to improve to beat you, it's already the best hand i.e. it doesn't need outs, you do.

Knowing his hand (KK) it's actually very close on the flop, you have 9 outs (hearts) + 4 outs (tens) giving you 13 outs. Using the 2 and 4 rule to approximate your chances of improving by the river gives you a 52% chance of winning by the river. A further refinement of the rule says you should subtract 1% for every out over 9 you have, so you're more like 48% to make your hand by the river so you're marginally behind.
